Baby Jogger 2016 Summit X3 Single Jogging Stroller – Black/Gray

Description

You’ve seen recalls of baby strollers in the news – it’s scary to think that something you might accidentally buy something that might malfunction while your child is inside. That’s why we do these reviews – we want to help other parents find the safest possible stroller. We also want you to find something that’s easy to handle, easy to store, has plenty of built in storage, and is affordable.

In this Baby Jogger 2016 Summit X3 Double Jogging Stroller review, we’ll examine the stroller’s basic specifications, rate its safety and ease of use, list the key benefits, and weigh the pros and cons.

Benefits

We were impressed with the overall quality of the Baby Jogger 2016 Summit X3. These were the main benefits we found:

  • Sturdy build and high maneuverability: will do well in any environment, indoor or outdoor.
  • Easy to use: the double jogging stroller folds in one step.
  • Plenty of storage space: large pouches and space underneath the stroller can easily fit a diaper bag, snacks, towels, and anything else you may need during an outing.

Product specifications

The 2016 model of the Summit X3 Double Jogging Stroller improves upon previous models by offering a higher rate of UV protection with a harness that can be switched between a 5 point and a 3 point as your children grow older.

The Baby Jogger can hold up to 100 lbs. (both seats combined), accommodate a maximum head height of 23”, and the stroller itself weighs 37 lbs.

  • Adjustment possibilities

The stroller seats can be reclined, making it a comfortable place for naps. Using a side lever, the front wheel can be easily and quickly adjusted to swivel or lock straight without having to stop.

Unfortunately, the Baby Jogger’s handlebars are not adjustable. This may be a problem if you are especially short or tall.

  • Ease of use

We love that the Summit X3 has one-step folding – there’s nothing complicated about it.  When you’re dealing with a bulky double stroller, you’re going to need it to fold as small as possible so that it doesn’t take up too much space in your home. When folded, the Summit X3’s size becomes 34.25″ x 32.48″ x 15.35″. It can fit in the backseat of most cars, making it great for travel.

  • Security and stability

Where the Baby Jogger 2016 really shines is in its stability. Built with active parents in mind, the stroller has all terrain wheels, as well as a hand and foot brake for maximum control on steep slopes. There’s nothing cheap or flimsy about this stroller – it feels solidly built.

  • Convenience and comfort

If you buy the Summit X3, will you be able to store a diaper bag large enough for two children? Can it handle a big day at the zoo or at a theme park?

The stroller comes with a large under-seat storage basket and back-seat pockets. A tray that attaches to the handlebars to hold things like water bottles and keys does not come with the stroller, but can be purchased separately.

The double stroller has an adjustable canopy to keep the sun off your children and side windows and vents to keep them happy and comfortable. The top of the canopy is clear, so your children can look up and see you.

The Verdict

As we wrap up our Baby Jogger 2016 Summit X3 Double Jogging Stroller review, we found that it not only met our safety standards, but far exceeded them – this is a sturdy stroller has been carefully designed with both parents and children in mind.

The stroller lives up to its title as a “jogger” – the tires have the mettle of mountain bike tires, which isn’t something you see often in baby strollers. With the Summit X3, you won’t struggle with sharp turns or bumpy terrain, which is great for active families that love the outdoors.

All in all, we believe the cost is well worth the value and highly recommend the Summit X3 Double Jogging Stroller. If it sounds like a good fit for your home, then buy one now!
